Classical Ballet

Formal ballet training begins at age 7-8. (For classes for younger children please refer to our wonderful and age appropriate Young Children's Classes.) Our progressive, physiologically aware syllabus incorporates elements of the French, Russian and Bournonville schools. Students typically stay 2-3 years at one level, refining learned techniques and gaining confidence. An individualized schedule is set for each student taking into account his needs, interests and goals. Contemporary, jazz and character dance are required components of the curriculum, included in the total tuition. All students from age 8 have the opportunity to audition for Riverfront Youth Theatre's ballets, for 2019-2020  "A Northwoods Nutcracker" and  "The Boy in Blue". Students in our Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet classes perform twice yearly, at our studio Christmas party and our all-school spring performance.  Class leotards and skirts may be purchased through (school id # TP28529)
